6 Things You Need to Know Before You Buy a Ripsnore

Ripsnore is marketed quite well. It really puts on a good show for consumers who are in the market for a mandibular advancement device (MAD) for their snoring, but that does not mean that this is the best option for you.

Ripsnore Stop Snoring MouthpieceSometimes, perfect feedback can raise a red flag, too. Below are a few things you need to know about Ripsnore that may have you continuing your search with other top-ranked snoring mouthpieces.

  1. There is no option to change the position of the lower jaw placement. An MAD does not need to have an adjustable lower jaw to be effective, but in this case it would be beneficial.
  2. Lifespan of the mouthpiece is 3 to 18 months. That is a pretty big range, right? It seems odd that a mouthpiece manufacturer does not have a better idea of how long its product will last. Since the difference is so large, one can only assume the true lifespan is a lot closer to 3 months than 18 months.
  3. Ripsnore is not FDA-cleared. Although the medical grade plastic is approved, the product is not.
  4. There is no way to order only one device off the site. You have to order a pack of two devices.
  5. “Invasive” does not begin to describe how uncomfortable this device is. It is not the most streamlined product to begin with, so expect it to take up a lot of room in your mouth. This means that your jaw will be sore and you will likely drool a lot while your mouth gets used to it.
  6. Ripsnore tends to be too wide for some people and too narrow for others. In my case, it fell out a lot during my trial and once I started reading reviews, I found that this was actually pretty common.
